Welcome to the Freepower Investors Centre.
We are a provider of cost effective equipment to generate electricity from most options of wasted heat, or the sun's heat.
Our team's vision is to build on sustainable success, and build a world class brand.
The Business
A successful proof of concept at 100watts in 1996, led to Freepower Ltd being formed in March 2000. In 1998 a single 1.5kW turbine alternator was tested, running on both wasted heat in England and solar thermal energy in Portugal, followed by a 3kW and a 6kW unit, known as the FP6, running on an unmodified industrial boiler.
FP6 has been successfully tested in house for the past 4 years. A variety of worldwide field pilot operating programmes are underway, and the resulting data collected from those will be fed into the final stages of the development of FP120 (developing 120kW), the first product to reach full marketability, to help achieve the company's mid term goals. Freepower will initially meet their targets from the global Landfill and Petrochemical sectors alone.
To meet market and environmental demands a plan is in place to develop a full range of products, providing from 2 - 500kW.
Investment in R&D and People
Over £3M of private funding has been spent on R&D and the company's closed cycle, ORC electricity generating technology, to produce a turbine generator that does not burn fuel, and because it has no combustion chamber, it has no exhaust to cause atmospheric pollution. The equipment fully complies with the governments criteria for "Clean Mechanism".
The founders and board consider rewarding staff for their support, hard work and loyalty by being able to share in the success of the company by providing access to equity, and all current company employees are also shareholders.
The company recommends, and provides, skills enhancement training to grow staff members, and technology training and support to customer engineering staff.
