Mym Simcock (FinstD)
Chief Executive Officer
A founding shareholder of the Company. Aside from strategy and business implementation, she also oversees day-to-day and sales operations. In 1995, she took Freepower as a virtual company through company formation, and became CEO in 1999. Prior to joining Freepower, Ms Simcock was a founding shareholder of Bowman Power Systems, a, micro-turbine generator company, producing conventionally fuelled 25kW-100kW micro-turbine generators. Past experience covers running a consultancy practice specialising in the establishment of UK subsidiaries for foreign companies., and has held positions as a Director of an art gallery, a property company and a business enterprise centre. She spent time in the early '70s as one of the few women Foreign Exchange brokers.
Peter Stone (FCA)
Company Secretary
Has a wide experience in general audit, taxation and company structuring. He qualified in 1969 and joined Cooper Bros in London. Mr Stone later joined Burnett Swayne, a large independent firm in Southampton, and became a Partner. After 24 years, he retired as a Senior Partner and started his own practice.
Ian Govier (BSc., CTA)
Finance, Tax & JVs
Ian has 20 years experience in UK and international finance and tax planning. He left KPMG London in 2002 where he was a Partner in the International Tax Services Group. His specialist areas include tax efficient cross-border structuring and financing, UK and US corporate tax planning, inward and outward investment (UK) and general international tax planning. Prior to joining KPMG, Mr Govier spent ten years in Industry, as head of the tax department of Amersham International Plc, Tax manager Europe, Africa and Middle East for PepsiCo Inc. and following its demerger from PepsiCo, Tax Director Europe, Africa and Middle East for Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. During this period, he worked structuring JV/Partnership/Licensing of Company IPR, particularly in Russia and other Eastern European states where IP is difficult to control. He was a Director of the International Trade and Investment Centre, which was heavily involved in advising the Russian Government during the drafting of the Russian Tax Code. He has managed and advised on many global restructuring projects, not least the demerger of Tricon from PepsiCo. He is a fully qualified Inspector of Taxes with the UK Inland Revenue.

Tom Gerson
Sales & Marketing
A qualified engineer with over 28 yrs experience in sales of Power Generation equipment, his skills encompass advice on EMC, equipment integration, grid connection and operation of equipment to provide efficient, distributed power solutions or cogeneration (CHP). Tom has been a member of the senior management teams of both Bowman Power Group and Hunting Engineering Ltd where he developed strong relationships with Distributors, OEMs and users of equipment. Prior experience includes a number of roles within the Plessey Group. Tom has experience working with customers in the UK, Europe, the US and Australia.
Ed Kennedy George
Customer Support & Training
An HND qualified electronics and electrical engineer with 11 yrs experience starting with testing UPS, AC & DC standby systems. For the past 5 years Ed has been at the sharp end of customer support for turbine generators and CHP systems to end users, distributors, and support engineers worldwide, responsible for integration with OEM equipment, installation of equipment into end user systems, commissioning, servicing and troubleshooting. He has also been involved with testing of alpha and beta product in preparation for production. Ed has also been responsible for training new test and support engineers, and technicians covering product knowledge, system set up and fault finding procedures and techniques.

Richard Biddle
Director of New Technology & Emerging Markets
A qualified solicitor, who specialised in commercial law in the 1970s. Concurrently, he served in the Royal Naval Reserves as a junior officer, spending time on gas turbine powered patrol boats. In 1983, he purchased a high-speed gas turbine experimental vessel, and subsequently built up a business supplying and installing gas turbine engines in high-speed vessels. Having spent time developing a micro gas turbine, he became a founding shareholder/director in Bowman Power Systems, in charge of mechanical design of high-speed alternators. He became Non-Executive Director in 1995 and remained as a consultant until 1999. Mr Biddle retired from Bowman in 1999 to focus on Freepower as a founder shareholder/director.
Jonathan Maguire Bsc (Imperial College)
Chief Design Engineer
Jonathan joined Freepower in early 2002. Prior, he was Senior Development Engineer at Solo Energy Corporation, responsible for all aspects of turbine and compressor components for use in micro-turbine generators. Previous experience with Borg Warner Turbosystems, Holset Engineering and British Aerospace has given Mr Maguire a high level of experience and skills in developing high efficiency turbine rotors, housings and nozzles and aerodynamic design.
Paul Hackwell BEng
Design Engineer & Technical Support
A qualified engineer with over 12 yrs experience in turbine design in the aeronautical and consumer industries. His experience covers thermal analysis, compressor and turbine design, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and related software. He is a named Inventor on a Patent to Dyson, with whom he worked for 8 years as a senior engineer, for their DC11 and DC08T vacuum cleaners. Previously he was with Rolls Royce on their RB211 programme. The difference in work experience between the two industries shows that Paul is flexible and understands the constraints imposed by both high quality engineering and the awareness of costs in the consumer marketplace.
Colin Payne (MIMI)
Development Engineer
Colin joined Freepower in mid 2002. He started life as an apprentice with Henleys in 1964, was promoted to workshop foreman in 1973, with responsibility for the Rolls Royce, Bentley and Jaguar workshops. In 1991 he joined Janspeed as Service Manager with extra responsibilities to include implementation of ISO 9002; Management of the race engine build and conversion unit, to include the cylinder head modification shop and engineering machine and fabrication shops.
David Goddard
Electronics/Electricial Engineer
A senior test engineer with 15 yrs of wide ranging experience from domestic to racing cars, and industrial to MOD trained for tanks and naval vessels. David has worked for Gresham Power, Janspeed Motorsport and Stock Electronics, and within those companies has worked on equipment ranging from power systems to assemblies for Sun Microsystems, BTCC racing cars and electronic circuitry at Canary Wharf.

Neil Wycherley
Production Manager
A Manufacturing professional with 30 years in Production, with IIM Certification and an HNC in Mechanical Engineering. Neil’s board level experience encompasses strategic to full P/L responsibility for both UK and overseas operations, where he has taken greenfield sites to full production in both Turkey and Malaysia, as well as successfully driving significant increase on past manufacturing output. Neil was Manufacturing Director of Denco Ltd prior to joining Freepower, and has worked with Pentagon Radiators, and McCorquodale Machine Systems.
