Mym Simcock (FinstD)
Chief Executive Officer
A founding shareholder of the Company. Aside from strategy and business implementation, she also oversees day-to-day and sales operations. In 1995, she took Freepower™ as a virtual company through company formation, and became CEO in 1999. Prior to joining Freepower™, Ms Simcock was a founding shareholder of Bowman Power Systems, a micro-turbine generator company, producing conventionally fuelled 25kW-100kW micro-turbine generators. Past experience covers running a consultancy practice specialising in the establishment of UK subsidiaries for foreign companies, and has held positions as a Director of an art gallery, a property company and a business enterprise centre. She spent time in the early '70s as one of the few women Foreign Exchange brokers.
Peter Stone (FCA)
Company Secretary
Has a wide experience in general audit, taxation and company structuring. He qualified in 1969 and joined Cooper Bros in London. Mr Stone later joined Burnett Swayne, a large independent firm in Southampton, and became a Partner. After 24 years, he retired as a Senior Partner and started his own practice.
Gordon Matchett (Bsc)
Finance and IT Security
Degree in Physics & Mathematics with over 35 years in IBM Canada. Joining in the early 1960’s as a Programmer for Mainframe Computers, and moving over to become involved in the implementation of the first IBM PC; 1980’s - seconded to banking in England, Japan, USA and Hong Kong. 1990’s - moved into finance at IBM Canada, on the re-launch of direct retail computing stores to develop financial reporting systems, performance & trends reporting for IBM head office. His final role involved planning, developing and overseeing integration of newly launched, web based, e-sales into existing financial reporting structures. Joined Freepower™ in 1999 to develop , build and run analysis and trends models, financial & IT risk assessments, reporting results to the Board .
Tom Gerson
Head of Marketing
A qualified engineer with over 28 yrs experience in sales of Power Generation equipment, his skills encompass advice on EMC, equipment integration, grid connection and operation of equipment to provide efficient, distributed power solutions or cogeneration (CHP). Tom has been a member of the senior management teams of both Bowman Power Group and Hunting Engineering Ltd where he developed strong relationships with Distributors, OEMs and users of equipment. Prior experience includes a number of roles within the Plessey Group. Tom has experience working with customers in the UK, Europe, the US and Australia.
Martin Page
Head of Design and Engineering
Martin Page BEng, CEng, MIET (Design & Engineering Director Designate). Fundamentally a Power Electronics Engineer with a wealth of experience and innovative flair managing product development programmes in the power electronics and UPS industry. Backed up with the associated in-depth design, prioritisation and resourcing skills covering electrical and mechanical engineering, analogue and digital techniques, semi conductor technology and microcontroller programming, Martin is generally considered to be a “Scientific Engineer” with 18 years in research and development spanning mathematics, physics, chemistry and metallurgy, primarily concentrated on product development, where he has gained a reputation for design for manufacture associated with bringing programme schedules to fruition in a timely manner. Martin brings good engineering practices, quality and production scheduling, and tight budgetary controls to the management of multiple projects.
Neil Wycherley
Head of Production
A Manufacturing professional with 30 years in Production, with IIM Certification and an HNC in Mechanical Engineering. Neil’s board level experience encompasses strategic to full P/L responsibility for both UK and overseas operations, where he has taken greenfield sites to full production in both Turkey and Malaysia, as well as successfully driving significant increase on past manufacturing output. Neil was Manufacturing Director of Denco Ltd prior to joining Freepower™, and has worked with Pentagon Radiators, and McCorquodale Machine Systems.
